A: You can visit the nearest social insurance administration center to report for loss and apply for a new one with your ID card or Household Registration Booklet, or you can dial 12333 and press 4 to report the loss and then go to the social insurance administration center to apply for a new one.
If you entrust another person to do it, the person has to present both your ID card and his/hers.
The process fee is RMB25 for one piece, and the time is 5 working days.
When the new card is done, the old one becomes invalid automatically. And all your information will be transferred to the new one. The only difference is the card number.
