Atthe invitation of our party, 25 members of the Political Bureau of the CentralCommittee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (hereinafter referred to asPeople's Revolutionary Party), Secretary of the Secretariat of the CentralCommittee and Minister of the central organization, Chansy PHOSYKHA, led adelegation to visit Xiamen from July 8 to 11 and attended the 8th TheoreticalSeminar of the two parties held in Xiamen. The delegation included 10 officialsand experts at or above the ministerial level, including Secretary of theSecretariat of the Central Committee of the Lao People's revolutionary partyand Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee Gijo. This wasChansy 's second visit to Xiamen this year. In April this year, BoungnangVorachith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People'srevolutionary party and President of the state, led a delegation to visitXiamen, accompanied by Chansy.
OnJuly 8, Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC CentralCommittee, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee andMinister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, met withChansy at the Xiamen International Conference Center and held a welcomebanquet. Yu Weiguo, Secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee, Wang Yajun,Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committeeof the CPC, Liang Yanshun, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of theCPC Central Committee, Hu Changsheng, member of the Standing Committee of theCPC Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committeewere present.
Onthe morning of July 9, the 8th Theoretical Seminar between China and Laosofficially opened. Minister Huang Kunming and Chansy attended the openingceremony and gave keynote reports respectively. From the afternoon of the July 9to the morning of the July 10, experts and scholars from China and Laos madespeeches and exchanged discussions on the theme of "the Law of China Laos SocialistModernization". Chinese and Lao experts at the Deputy ministerial levelattending the seminar include: Zhen Zhanmin, vice president of the CentralParty School (State Administration College), Jiang Hui, member of the Partygroup of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, director of the Institute of ContemporaryChina studies, Wang Yiming, deputy director of the Development Research Centerof the State Council, SOMSAVAT LENGSAVAD, consultant of the Central Committeeof the Lao People's revolutionary party, Thongsalith MANGNOMEK, Presidentof the National Academy of Social Sciences, and the state Tongsha limannome,President of the School of Political Administration, NAM VIGNAKET, vicechairman of the National Social Sciences Commission, Song Peng Xi Jia Lun, ViceMinister of the Central Committee, and wandibutafeng, Lao Ambassador to China.The seminar was also attended by Dai Zhiwang, Vice Minister of PublicityDepartment of Xiamen Municipal Committee, and 50 experts and scholars fromXiamen counterpart departments.
The8th Theoretical Seminar between China and Laos was held in Xiamen, reflectingthe full trust of the central government in Xiamen's ability to hold importantinternational conferences. Under the condition of tight time and heavy tasks, XMFSCfully cooperates with the work deployment of the Municipal Foreign AffairsOffice.
